In a significant move, Nazara Technologies, the leading publicly listed diversified gaming and sports media company in India, has acquired Fusebox Games, a UK-based IP gaming studio, for Rs 228 crore in an all-cash transaction. The acquisition was formally announced on Thursday.

Fusebox Games, which employs 30 individuals primarily based in the United Kingdom, is renowned for publishing the interactive story game 'Love Island' and is currently working on new games based on popular global TV intellectual properties. According to reports, Fusebox showcased robust growth with year-to-date revenue for 2024 standing at Rs 116.6 crore and an EBITDA of Rs 33.3 crore.

Nitish Mittersain, Founder and CEO of Nazara Technologies, expressed optimism about the acquisition, highlighting the potential to build an IP-based global gaming business. He emphasized that Nazara's core base in India offers strategic advantages in user acquisition, data analytics, and AI-driven live operations, thereby driving the company towards becoming a global gaming entity of significant scale.
