Karnataka Unveils 2024 Cyber Security Policy to Combat Rising Cybercrimes
The Karnataka Government has launched a cyber security policy for 2024 aimed at combating cybercrimes. The policy emphasizes awareness, skill-building, and public-private partnerships to protect digital infrastructure. The policy encompasses education, industry promotion, and strengthening IT assets, with support from the Indian Institute of Science and CISCO's skilling program for 40,000 individuals.

The Karnataka Government on Thursday launched a comprehensive cyber security policy for 2024 to address rising cybercrimes and enhance digital safety through awareness, skill-building, and public-private partnerships.
The policy emphasizes key areas like education, skill development, industry promotion, and capacity-building collaborations, officials said.
'Recognizing the growing importance of cyber security, this policy aims to create a resilient cyberspace for citizens and enterprises,' said Priyank Kharge, Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj and Information Technology and Biotechnology, during the launch event. The policy is divided into two parts: public awareness and education, and internal IT security measures. Crafted by multiple government departments and reviewed by the Indian Institute of Science, the policy also includes a skilling initiative by CISCO to train 40,000 individuals, focusing on women empowerment in the tech sector.
