New way to display guest list in Google Calendar
Google is making significant improvements to the way meeting attendees' names are displayed in Calendar invites and invite updates sent via email.
Until now, you typically see email addresses or in some cases, a mix of email addresses and names within a calendar invite. With the latest update, you'll see more names included in the calendar invite, including the names of those in your organization as well as those guests whom you have interacted with previously.
For end-users, there is no action required on your part. You will automatically see this update.
"We're updating the way meeting attendees' names are displayed in Calendar invites and invite updates sent via email. Currently, you may notice only email addresses or in some cases, a mix of email addresses and names within a calendar invite," Google wrote in a blog post on Friday.
For Rapid Release domains, the gradual rollout of the enhanced attendee name display feature commenced on October 13, 2023, and it may take up to 15 days for all users to have this feature visible.
For Scheduled Release domains, the rollout will begin on October 25, 2023, with a similar gradual approach of up to 15 days for feature visibility.
