The Philippines is gearing up to host the full Ironman triathlon once again after a gap of one year. Subic is chosen for the 2020 full Ironman, which was last hosted by the Philippines in 2018.

Fred Uytengsu, the owner of Ironman organizer Sunrise Events, Inc., announced that the Boardwalk area of Subic will be the starting and finishing point of the triathlon.

Subic brought full Ironman to the Philippines a few decades ago when it became the first city to host the triathlon.

“Thank you to all the Pros who come back and grace our events year after year,” said Uytengsu via video message during the press conference Saturday, according to Inquirer. “We returned to the Boardwalk where triathlon in the Philippines started many years ago.”

“It should make for an interesting race,” he added.
