Jasprit Bumrah has been honored by Cricket Australia as the captain of its Test team of the year, recognizing his unparalleled performance in 2024. Bumrah's impressive tally of 71 wickets from 13 matches at an astonishing average of 14.92 has set a high bar in Test cricket this year.
The Indian bowler showcased his skill not only against Australia but also against England, securing 19 wickets in four Tests on challenging home turfs. Cricket Australia praised Bumrah's exemplary achievements, comparing his performance to cricket legends like Dale Steyn and Imran Khan.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, the young batting sensation, was also included in the team for scoring 1,478 runs with a remarkable average. Despite Pat Cummins' commendable year, he didn't make the XI, while players from England, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, and South Africa were included alongside Indians Bumrah and Jaiswal.
