In a significant development, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that India has expressed its unwillingness to travel to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy in 2025, scheduled for February-March. This was communicated to the International Cricket Council (ICC) by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
The PCB has forwarded an email from the ICC regarding India's decision to the Pakistani government, seeking advice and guidance. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi had earlier stated that Pakistan would formulate its policy once they received official documentation from the ICC.
Since India last visited Pakistan for the Asia Cup in 2008 under Mahendra Singh Dhoni's leadership, they have not toured the country. Due to India's consistent refusal to travel to Pakistan, the Champions Trophy might be organized in a 'Hybrid Model', with Dubai likely hosting India's matches, including the much-anticipated clash against Pakistan.
