Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra has announced the appointment of renowned Czech athlete Jan Zelezny as his new coach. The decision comes as Chopra aims to refine his skills following the retirement of his former coach, Klaus Bartonietz.
Chopra, who clinched gold at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 and silver at this year's Paris Games, expressed admiration for Zelezny's impeccable technique. "Growing up, I admired Jan's technique and precision...It's an honour to have Jan by my side," Chopra stated.
Zelezny, a three-time Olympic gold medalist with a world record throw, is optimistic about Chopra's future. "I see big potential," Zelezny remarked, highlighting their upcoming sessions at a South African winter camp to enhance Chopra's technical prowess.
