Severe flash floods in Spain's Valencian region have compelled both LaLiga and the Spanish FA (RFEF) to request postponements of all scheduled soccer matches in the area, casting an uncertain shadow over the weekend fixtures. The catastrophic storms have claimed at least 95 lives, prompting authorities to advise against non-essential travel.

A decision on the weekend's flagship match between Real Madrid and Valencia, along with others featuring clubs like Villarreal and Rayo Vallecano, is pending from the RFEF Competition Committee. In a proactive move earlier, RFEF had already postponed six midweek Copa del Rey matches featuring prominent clubs such as Valencia, Getafe, and Real Sociedad.

The sporting community has rallied in response, with clubs including Barcelona and Real Madrid extending condolences to flood victims in Valencia, Albacete, and Andalusia. Meanwhile, Valencia CF has repurposed its stadium as a hub for relief donations, in partnership with the Valencia Food Bank, to assist those impacted by the deluge.
