Star Indian pacer Mohammed Shami has candidly revealed uncertainty regarding his involvement in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy as he works towards regaining full fitness. His participation hinges on the decision from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

In a recently circulated video, Shami was spotted bowling for over an hour at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The session followed India's disheartening eight-wicket loss to New Zealand. Key figures such as India assistant coach Abhishek Nayar and bowling coach Morne Morkel supervised Shami's training, which also included fielding drills.

Post-ODI World Cup 2023, Shami has been sidelined owing to an ankle injury sustained in November. Speaking at an event in Gurugram, Shami emphasized the importance of his continued focus on fitness by participating in more games. Although not included in the current Test series squad against New Zealand, Shami aims to return during the Rakhi Trophy matches, aspiring to feature in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia.

The highly anticipated India-Australia series is set to kick off on November 22 in Perth. The second match will introduce the day-night format at the Adelaide Oval from December 6 to 10, followed by the third Test at Brisbane's The Gabba from December 14 to 18. The Boxing Day clash at Melbourne Cricket Ground promises to be a spectacle from December 26 to 30, leading up to the series finale at the Sydney Cricket Ground, January 3 to 7, which ensures a thrilling conclusion.
