The event features four categories, with noteworthy names like Pranab Bardhan and Raju Tolani representing India in different sections.
The competition comprises 34 nations in the 'Open' section, while 24 countries vie in the women's division. The opening round is an all-play-all round-robin, determining the teams for the round-of-16 knockout stage.
India will face Canada in the Open category opener, while the seniors take on Turkey. The women's team is set against Brazil, with the mixed team encountering Germany. New regulations by the World Bridge Federation emphasize maintaining decorum, adhering to its 'Zero Tolerance for Bad Behavior' policy.
