In a thrilling U.S. Grand Prix sprint on Saturday, Max Verstappen of Red Bull ended his eight-race losing streak by seizing victory from pole position. This win extends his lead in the Formula One championship to a significant 54 points over McLaren's Lando Norris.

Ferrari's Carlos Sainz finished a strong second, trailing Verstappen by just 3.882 seconds. Sainz managed to pass Norris at the beginning of the last lap, capitalizing on the Briton's mistake at turn one where he went too deep.

This victory marks Verstappen's first since his sprint victory in Austria in June. Notably, he has now triumphed in all four 100km sprints this season, with two more sprint races remaining. The main U.S. Grand Prix event is scheduled for Sunday.
