Toyota's Return to Formula One: A New Era for Haas F1 Team
Toyota and Haas F1 Team have formed a multi-year technical partnership, marking Toyota's return to Formula One since 2009. This collaboration aims to enhance both parties' technological expertise and develop future talent in racing. Toyota will provide design, technical, and manufacturing services while focusing on developing young drivers and engineers.
The U.S.-owned Haas Formula One team and Toyota have announced a groundbreaking multi-year technical partnership, marking the return of Japan's largest car manufacturer to grand prix racing since 2009. Despite remaining the smallest team on the grid, Haas will continue utilizing Ferrari power units and collaborate closely with Maranello and chassis design partner Dallara.
This new partnership with Toyota Gazoo Racing begins immediately, with the team's branding debuting at the U.S. Grand Prix in Austin, Texas. As the official technical partner, Toyota Gazoo Racing will collaborate with Haas to share expertise and resources, focusing on developing young drivers, engineers, and mechanics to strengthen both organizations' racing capabilities.
Despite Toyota's previous Formula One venture between 2002-09 failing to clinch a race win, the company, through Gazoo Racing, aims to create opportunities for Japanese drivers, engineers, and mechanics to excel in international motorsport. Haas will introduce an all-new driver lineup next year, featuring Esteban Ocon and Oliver Bearman, in their quest to enhance competitiveness on the F1 circuit.
