Canadian golfer Taylor Pendrith maintained his early lead at the Shriners Children's Open following a first-day score of 10-under 61. Pendrith played just six holes on the second day before darkness halted proceedings, managing to avoid the fierce winds that wreaked havoc during the day, causing a four-hour delay and challenging conditions for the field.

Pendrith remains 10-under, marking his scorecard with four pars, a birdie, and a bogey in a short day of play. He currently leads by one stroke over Filipino golfer Rico Hoey, who scored a 15-foot eagle putt on his final hole. Las Vegas resident Kurt Kitayama, noted for his resilience, completed a bogey-free round of 68 despite gusts up to 40 mph, joining a competitive group at 8-under 134.

With Friday's start delayed due to winds reaching 50 mph, safety concerns kept spectators from TPC Summerlin. The challenging conditions impacted play, notably for Joseph Bramlett, who registered a triple bogey after a five-putt on the 10th hole. Pierceson Coody delivered the standout round of the day, achieving eight birdies for a round of 65, recovering from an initial 72 to sit at 5-under 137. (ANI)
