British cyclist Mark Cavendish is preparing for a poignant farewell at the Tour de France Criterium in early November. The race, which organizers have confirmed as his final professional appearance, marks the end of an illustrious career for the 'Manx Missile'.

At 39, Cavendish holds an impressive record of 165 victories, including a groundbreaking 35 stage wins at the Tour de France. He last competed in July when he reached this milestone. Additionally, Cavendish secured a silver medal in the 2016 Rio Olympics and three world titles in the Madison discipline.

The upcoming event in Singapore from Nov. 9-10 was initially not on his calendar as he had planned to retire at the end of the 2023 season. However, a crash at last year's Tour de France prompted a change of plans, extending his career by a year.
