In a significant development for the world of triathlons, World Triathlon and the Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) have cemented a 12-year strategic partnership aimed at expanding their commercial relationship, according to a statement released by the sport's governing body on Wednesday.
The collaboration between the two bodies saw the launch of the T100 Triathlon World Tour in January, followed by the introduction of new anti-doping regulations in May. This long-term agreement, extending until 2036, underscores their commitment to enhancing the sport's global presence.
World Triathlon President Marisol Casado emphasized the joint responsibility with PTO to 'double down on the good work we've already started' while leveraging the sport's broad appeal. The partnership will also prioritize anti-doping measures, safeguarding, and cooperative efforts in rights management and sponsorship.
