Tragedy struck on Mt Dhaulagiri as five Russian climbers, aiming for the summit, were found dead at an altitude exceeding 7,000 meters. The climbers, identified as Alexander Dusheyko, Oleg Kruglov, Vladimir Chistikov, Mikhail Nosenko, and Dmitrii Shpilevoi, lost contact with their base after leaving the high camp.

Rescue efforts, spearheaded by Heli Everest, were hampered by adverse weather conditions. On Tuesday, a rescue helicopter discovered the climbers' bodies at around 7,700 meters. A sixth climber was successfully rescued from the base camp, offering a glimmer of solace amid the somber situation.

In a separate incident, a 23-year-old Polish tourist, Sowinska Agnieszka, succumbed to altitude sickness while trekking in the Suryakunda area, on the border of Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts. These incidents underscore the perils associated with high-altitude exploration in Nepal's rugged terrain.
