The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has urged countries to sever ties with the suspended International Boxing Association (IBA). This comes after the IOC warned that federations affiliated with the IBA will be barred from the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. The ongoing clash between the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the International Boxing Association (IBA) has escalated, with the IOC urging national Olympic Committees to dissociate from national boxing federations linked to the IBA.

In a communication dated September 30, the IOC emphasized that federations maintaining ties with the IBA would be excluded from the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics. This follows a similar directive issued in May.

The IBA, which faces suspension over governance and corruption issues, decried the IOC's move as 'unacceptable gaslighting' and an assault on the independence of sports federations.
