In a touching gesture, Indian cricket star Virat Kohli presented his bat to former Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan, acclaimed for his remarkable Test career. The event unfolded after the second Test in Kanpur, signaling deep respect and camaraderie in the cricketing world.

Shakib has announced that the upcoming series against South Africa, if he gets the opportunity, will mark his last appearance on home soil. If circumstances prevent this, the series against India will serve as his farewell. "I have shared my Test cricket plans with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). This may well be my last series," Shakib stated in a pre-match briefing.

Following the political turmoil in Bangladesh, marked by former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's resignation, Shakib faced security concerns, making his future in international cricket uncertain. Despite these challenges, his focus remains on concluding his career on a high note. India's comprehensive victory in the second Test, led by Yashasvi Jaiswal's impressive half-century, rounded off an eventful match.
