Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batter Mushfiqur Rahim achieved a significant milestone on Saturday, overtaking Tamim Iqbal to become the top run-scorer for the Bengal Tigers. The feat was reached during the second inning of the first Test match against India at MA Chidambaram Stadium.

On Saturday, the 37-year-old managed 13 runs from 11 balls before being dismissed by Ravichandran Ashwin in the 34th over. With this, Mushfiqur's cumulative score stands at 15,194 runs in international cricket, encompassing ODIs, T20Is, and Tests. Tamim Iqbal now trails slightly with a total of 15,192 runs.

Following them are Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah, who have 14,696 and 10,694 runs, respectively. As of day three, Bangladesh were 158/4, with skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto (51*) and Shakib Al Hasan (5*) holding the crease. India, with a formidable lead of 432 runs, declared their innings at 287/4, thanks to standout performances from Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill.
