Francesco Bagnaia secured pole position at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, shattering his own lap record at Misano. Francesco Bagnaia captured pole position at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, setting a new lap record at the Misano circuit. The Ducati rider broke his previous record, pushing his bike to achieve a time of one minute and 30.031 seconds. Bagnaia's superb performance placed him ahead of Jorge Martin and Enea Bastianini, who will join him on the front row.
Heading into his 100th race in the premier class, Bagnaia is also aiming to secure Ducati's 100th victory. Despite challenging temperatures and tricky left corners, Bagnaia expressed satisfaction with his qualifying run, positioning himself ideally for the sprint race in the afternoon.
The Misano circuit is hosting two races this year, replacing the canceled Kazakhstan race. Championship leader Jorge Martin, who narrowly trails Bagnaia by seven points, seeks redemption after a bike-switch gamble failed at the San Marino Grand Prix. Enea Bastianini, Brad Binder, and rookie Pedro Acosta also posted strong qualifying times, adding to the competitive grid.
