Perez Predicts Better Performance with Red Bull Fixes Ahead of Azerbaijan GP
Sergio Perez believes a fix to Red Bull's car issues could benefit him more than teammate Max Verstappen. Before the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Perez mentioned that their driving styles may have hidden issues. Red Bull, facing a six-race winless streak, is under pressure with remaining races, aiming for improvements.
Sergio Perez believes he could see greater improvement than teammate Max Verstappen from any solutions to the car issues slowing Red Bull. Speaking ahead of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Perez highlighted that different driving styles might have masked problems. Red Bull, currently enduring a six-race winless streak, faces mounting pressure with eight races remaining this season.
The Mexican driver noted that Verstappen's ability to cope well with the car's issues might have led the team to underestimate the severity of the problems. "It wasn't so obvious the issue with (Max's) driving style, where with my driving style it all became a lot more apparent probably since race number three of the season," said Perez.
Red Bull's chief engineer Paul Monaghan expressed hope that the car's upgraded floor would lead to better performance in the upcoming race. "We've licked our wounds, learned our lessons. Well, the proof in the pudding will obviously be on Sunday, but we have tried to bring changes to the car and make it better," Monaghan stated.
