India defender Anwar Ali, currently with East Bengal, along with his parent club Delhi FC, approached the Delhi High Court to seek a stay on a suspension imposed by the All India Football Federation (AIFF). The suspension is for allegedly terminating his contract with Mohun Bagan prematurely.

AIFF imposed a four-month suspension on Ali and demanded Rs 12.90 crore compensation to Mohun Bagan. The involved parties have filed a writ petition, which is scheduled for hearing soon. Delhi FC owner Ranjit Bajaj emphasized the importance of not depriving Ali of crucial match time.

East Bengal official Debabrata Sarkar backed the move, highlighting that the player's career should not be adversely affected while awaiting a decision from the AIFF's Appeals Committee.
