Thrilling Records and Narrow Victories at Senior National Aquatic Championships

Karnataka's Srihari Natraj emerged victorious in the men's 100m freestyle, clocking 50.59 at the Senior National Aquatic Championships. Tamil Nadu's quartet consisting of Pramiti Gnanasekaran, Danush Suresh, B Bendection Rohit, and Deeksha Sivakumar set a new record with 4:05.30 in the mixed 4x100m medley.

The previous record of 4:06.84, set by Maharashtra in 2023, was broken despite a strong performance by the state's team of Rishabh Anupam Das, Saanvi Deshwal, Mihir Ambre, and Aditi Satish Hegde, who finished second. Vritti Agarwal of Telangana led the women's 1500m freestyle initially and finished with 17:45.63, followed by Karnataka's Shirin at 17:50.61.

In the men's 800m freestyle, Karnataka's Aneesh S Gowda dominated from the start, finishing at 8:20.01. The women's 200m medley saw a fierce contest, with Tamil Nadu's Shreenithi Natesan finishing first at 2:25.52. The men's 200m medley was equally thrilling, with Vinayak Vijay from SSCB narrowly clinching victory. The women's 100m freestyle ended in a tight race, while the mixed 4x100m freestyle concluded with Maharashtra taking the lead against Tamil Nadu and RSPB.
