In a historic display, the Indian contingent concluded the Paris 2024 Paralympics with a record-breaking haul of 29 medals, including seven golds, nine silvers, and 13 bronzes. This feat surpasses India's previous record of 19 medals achieved in Tokyo 2020.

International Olympic Committee (IOC) member and Reliance Foundation chairperson, Nita Ambani, congratulated the para-athletes for their remarkable success. 'With the highest-ever tally of 29 medals, you have broken records and barriers, uniting the nation in celebration,' she expressed.

Among the highlights, Avani Lekhara became the first Indian woman to secure two Paralympic golds in shooting, while Praveen Kumar set an Asian record in the T64 high jump. India's remarkable journey also included its first-ever medals in para-athletics and archery.
