Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday underscored the importance of sports, asserting that a healthy body is essential for building a strong society and nation.
Speaking at the inauguration of the 73rd All India Police Wrestling Cluster, Adityanath noted that sports activities have been integral to Indian tradition since ancient times. He stressed that a healthy body, nurtured through sports, yoga, and pranayam, is vital for a robust society.
Adityanath praised India's Paralympians for their outstanding performance in Paris, stating that their talent and determination have captured the world's attention. He also announced that Uttar Pradesh will recruit medal-winning athletes from international competitions directly into the state police force. Additionally, the government plans to develop playgrounds, mini stadiums, and full-sized stadiums across various regions to further promote sports.
