Indian track and field athlete Simran Sharma impressed by topping her heat in the women's 200m T12 event at the Paris Paralympics on Friday.
The reigning world champion clocked 25.41 seconds, securing her place in the semifinals. Under Paralympics rules, the heat winners advance to Final A, and the top three runners in each semifinal move forward.
Simran, who was born visually impaired, has shown remarkable resilience. Trained by her husband Gajendra Singh at New Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, she narrowly missed a medal in the 100m T12 final on Thursday, finishing fourth with a time of 12.31 seconds.
