BJP MP Hemant Savara announced that Union Sports Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya has approved a grant of Rs 5 crore for a new sports stadium in Palghar district. The initiative aligns with the 'Khelo India' program and aims to boost sports infrastructure and talent development in the tribal-dominated area.
BJP MP Hemant Savara on Sunday announced that Union Sports Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya has sanctioned a grant of Rs 5 crore for the construction of a sports stadium in Maharashtra's Palghar district.
The Lok Sabha representative from Palghar stated that he had previously requested the minister to consider the development of a multi-sports stadium complex, which would bolster sports facilities in the tribal-dominated area. This initiative is in line with the 'Khelo India - National Programme for Development of Sports' scheme, which promotes sports infrastructure development at the district level.
In his letter, Savara stressed the current inadequacy of sports facilities in Palghar, observing that despite limited resources, many tribal residents actively participate and excel in various sports. The new stadium is expected to foster and nurture sports talent in the district, significantly advancing its sports development endeavors.
