Turkey has apprehended Liridon Rexhepi, a national from Kosovo, who stands accused of managing the financial operations for Israel's Mossad intelligence agency within Turkish borders, according to the Turkish intelligence organisation MIT.

Liridon Rexhepi was detained in Istanbul on August 30. He faces accusations of transferring funds to Mossad operatives stationed in Turkey. This arrest comes amid heightened tensions between Turkey and Israel, especially as Turkey has condemned Israel's actions against Hamas militants in Gaza.

The MIT stated that Rexhepi had been under surveillance since his arrival in Turkey on August 25. He is suspected of moving funds from Eastern Europe, mainly Kosovo, to Mossad agents in Turkey. These funds were reportedly utilized for intelligence gathering in Syria, psychological operations against Palestinians, and drone-related missions, often employing cryptocurrency for transactions.
