Randhir Singh Makes History as First Indian President of Olympic Council of Asia
Randhir Singh was unanimously elected as the first Indian president of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) during the 44th General Assembly. A former five-time Olympic shooter, Randhir has been acting president since 2021. His term will run from 2024 until 2028. The assembly saw participation from 45 Asian nations.

In a historic moment, veteran sports administrator Randhir Singh became the first Indian to be elected as the president of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) during the 44th General Assembly.
A five-time Olympic shooter, Singh was the sole eligible candidate for the OCA president position. His unanimous election will see him serve from 2024 until 2028.
The 77-year-old has served as the acting president of OCA since 2021, stepping in for Kuwait's Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah, who faced a 15-year ban from sports administration. The election saw 44 out of 45 votes in Singh's favor.
