Senior spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has lauded the BCCI's decision to implement the Decision Review System (DRS) in the ongoing Duleep Trophy, noting that it will provide valuable insights to burgeoning batters about necessary technical adjustments before entering international cricket.

Ashwin referenced the leg-before-wicket (LBW) dismissal of India D batsman Ricky Bhui by India C left-arm spinner Manav Suthar during the Anantapur-leg match on Friday. Bhui, batting comfortably on 44 runs, was forced into a defensive shot that led to his contentious LBW dismissal upon DRS review.

Highlighting how DRS could alter conventional techniques, Ashwin remarked, "DRS for domestic cricket ensures not just accurate decisions but also aids players in refining their approach. Bhui's dismissal is a case where old techniques may no longer hold." He added that players must adapt early in their careers, as reliance on outdated methods may jeopardize their international prospects.
