Veteran Indian fast bowler Ishant Sharma has extolled the leadership and camaraderie within the Purani Dilli 6 team during their promising campaign in the ongoing Delhi Premier League (DPL). The team clinched a semi-final berth on Monday with a convincing 33-run victory over Central Delhi Kings at Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Despite being unable to take the field, Ishant has remained a vital presence within the Purani Dilli 6 camp. Reflecting on their journey, Ishant emphasized the family-like atmosphere cultivated by the team and credited team owner Akash Nangia for his unwavering support.

"Till now it has been a great experience, but unfortunately I've not been able to play. I would say it is just not a team but a family. The way players have played and supported each other. The way Aakash (Nangia) has helped each and everyone in the team is really commendable," Ishant was quoted in a release from DPL as saying. Purani Dilli 6 made a remarkable comeback in the Delhi Premier League with consecutive wins, marking the first time they clinched back-to-back victories that propelled them into the semi-finals.

Looking ahead to the semi-finals, Ishant urged his teammates to stay focused and maintain the passion and unity that have brought them this far. "Just keep on doing things and forget who is in front of you. Play with your heart and focus on every little thing that will eventually result in making you the winner," he added.
