Australians Jordan Thompson and Max Purcell are set for another shot at a men's doubles title at the U.S. Open after advancing to the final. They achieved victory against the American duo of Jackson Winthrow and Nathaniel Lammons with a score of 6-4, 7-6 (4) in Thursday's semifinal.

Awaiting them in the championship match is the German team of Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz, who are the No. 10 seed. This marks another significant opportunity for Thompson and Purcell, who were agonizingly close to claiming a title at Wimbledon earlier this year.

The Australian pair, seeded No. 7, previously held three championship points at Wimbledon but lost to Henry Patten and Harri Heliovaara in a closely contested match. Meanwhile, Krawietz and Puetz have shown their mettle by defeating the fourth-seeded Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic, French Open champions, to make it to the final.
