Victor Osimhen Joins Galatasaray on Loan from Napoli

Victor Osimhen, a prominent Nigerian striker, has joined Turkish football club Galatasaray on loan from Serie A team Napoli, both clubs confirmed on Wednesday. The loan deal will see Galatasaray pay six million euros ($6.65 million) net for Osimhen's services for the 2024-2025 season.

Last December, Osimhen signed a contract extension with Napoli, extending his stay until 2026, with a notable 130 million euro release clause. Media reports had linked him to several clubs during the recent transfer window, including Saudi side Al-Ahli and Premier League's Chelsea.

In the current campaign, Osimhen was omitted from Napoli's official 23-man Serie A squad. The club has brought in Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku as a seeming replacement. (Exchange rate: $1 = 0.9026 euros)
