Rookie seamer Josh Hull is set to make his international cricket debut for England in the final test of the summer against Sri Lanka at The Oval.

In pursuit of a rare clean sweep of six consecutive victories, England has included the 20-year-old left-armer in the team, replacing Matthew Potts. Hull has taken just 16 first-class wickets across 10 matches.

Since head coach Brendon McCullum and captain Ben Stokes assumed their roles, England has adopted a strategy of betting on young talent. Stand-in skipper Ollie Pope expressed optimism about Hull's inclusion, stating, "It's a great week for him to come in, learn a little bit, and show off exactly what he can do." With England having already secured the series 2-0 against Sri Lanka, following victories over the West Indies in July, they are aiming for a clean sweep of home test series this summer for the first time since 2004. The final quest for victory begins on Friday.
