Indian shooters Nihal Singh and Rudransh Khandelwal failed to reach the finals in the mixed 50m pistol (SH1) competition at the Paris Paralympics held on Wednesday.

Nihal, who is the 2023 world championship bronze medallist, secured the 19th place with a total score of 522 over six series.

In his first Paralympics, 17-year-old Rudransh Khandelwal, who lost his left leg in a childhood accident, finished 22nd with a score of 517 in the qualification round.

Korean shooter Jo Jeongdu led the qualifications setting a new Paralympic Qualification Record with a score of 553.

SH1 classified athletes can use pistols or rifles and shoot from either standing or sitting positions. India has secured four medals so far in the Paris Paralympics, including one gold and one silver.
