James Slipper Set to Join Wallaby Legends in Test Caps Milestone

After missing Australia's first test against Argentina last weekend for the birth of his second child, James Slipper is expected to pack down for Saturday's clash with the Pumas in Santa Fe. This appearance will tie him with George Gregan as the most capped Wallaby.

The 35-year-old prop's selection for his 139th test is nearly certain following a head injury to fellow loosehead Isaac Kailea during the Wallabies' recent win in La Plata. Despite the milestone, Slipper, known for his no-frills attitude, may not make much of the occasion.

Slipper's teammates are keen to pay tribute. Fellow prop Allan Alaalatoa praised Slipper, saying, "He's massive for our group. He leads by action on the field and at training." Having extended his Wallabies contract until 2025, Slipper aspires to a series win against the British and Irish Lions, aiming to give long-suffering fans reason to celebrate under coach Joe Schmidt.
