Pakistan and South Africa Set for Crucial Women's T20 Series in Multan

In preparation for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024, the Pakistan and South Africa women's cricket teams will face off in a three-match series at the Multan Cricket Stadium, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced. The Proteas are scheduled to arrive in Multan on September 13, with matches slated for September 16, 18, and 20.

Following the series, the South African team will depart for the UAE on September 21, while Pakistan will follow on September 23. Pakistan's group in the Women's T20 World Cup 2024 includes formidable teams like Australia, India, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka, while South Africa will compete against Bangladesh, England, Scotland, and the West Indies.

The PCB confirmed that the squad named for the Women's T20 World Cup will also take part in the series against South Africa. Players such as Najiha Alvi, Rameen Shamim, and Umm-e-Hani will join the pre-series training camp in Multan, though only Najiha will travel to the UAE. Training for the Pakistan team will begin on September 1 at the Multan Cricket Stadium.
