England has made a strategic change ahead of the second cricket test against Sri Lanka at Lord's by replacing the injured Mark Wood with fellow fast bowler Olly Stone. The match, set to begin on Thursday, will mark Stone's first test appearance since June 2021.

On Tuesday, England announced the team lineup, revealing that Stone is the sole alteration from the squad that secured a five-wicket victory against Sri Lanka in Manchester last week.

The updated roster includes Ben Duckett, Dan Lawrence, Ollie Pope (captain), Joe Root, Harry Brook, Jamie Smith (wicketkeeper), Chris Woakes, Gus Atkinson, Matthew Potts, Olly Stone, and Shoaib Bashir.
