England fast bowler Mark Wood has been ruled out of the test series against Sri Lanka due to a thigh injury, the England Cricket Board announced on Sunday. Wood, who injured his right thigh during the first test at Old Trafford, will be replaced by Leicestershire's left-arm seamer Josh Hull.

Hull, who is 20 years old and stands six feet seven inches tall, earned his first call-up to the England test squad for the remaining two games against Sri Lanka at Lord's and The Oval. Hull recently played for the Lions against Sri Lanka.

Chris Woakes is expected to lead the pace attack at Lord's, with support from a combination of Gus Atkinson, Matthew Potts, Olly Stone, and Hull. The England Men's Test Squad includes Ollie Pope (Surrey) as Captain, along with other notable players such as Gus Atkinson (Surrey), Harry Brook (Yorkshire), and Joe Root (Yorkshire).
