West Ham Secures First Premier League Win with Soucek and Bowen Goals

West Ham United achieved their first Premier League victory of the season with a solid 2-0 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday at Selhurst Park. Tomas Soucek and Jarrod Bowen netted the crucial goals in the second half.

Early opportunities presented themselves to both teams. West Ham's Mohammed Kudus flashed a shot wide in the 11th minute, while Keeper Alphonse Areola denied Palace striker Eberechi Eze a goal minutes later. Palace's Eze had the best first-half chance, striking the crossbar with a fierce curling shot just before the break.

The stalemate was broken when Aaron Wan-Bissaka, fresh from Manchester United, initiated a counter-attack finding Bowen. A chaotic Palace defense failed to clear Bowen's pass, and Soucek capitalized with a late run into the box to score. Bowen added a second goal five minutes later. Edson Alvarez, subbed in by Hammers' coach Julen Lopetegui, helped maintain the lead to secure the win.
