Lando Norris: Winning from Pole Position Still Elusive
Lando Norris secured the pole position at the Dutch GP but denied feeling desperate for a win. Despite achieving pole positions before, he has yet to translate any into victories. His performance has been mixed, with McLaren accepting their share of the blame. Norris remains optimistic about future races.
Lando Norris has once again secured the pole position, this time at the Dutch Grand Prix, but the McLaren driver is not letting the pressure get to him. Despite securing the top spot for the fourth time, Norris insists he is not desperate to win.
The 24-year-old F1 driver has only one win to his name, which he achieved in Miami from fifth on the grid. His previous pole positions in Spain and Hungary this season resulted in second-place finishes, trailing behind Red Bull's Max Verstappen and teammate Oscar Piastri.
Norris's first pole, in Russia 2021, ended in a disappointing seventh place due to strategic errors. Yet, he remains optimistic. "I want to win, but I am not desperate," Norris told reporters after becoming the first driver to beat Verstappen to pole at his home race. McLaren's mixed performance has also seen the team accepting blame for some of Norris's challenges.
