In an exhilarating battle at the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20, the Mangaluru Dragons fell just short of their target, finishing six runs behind the Bengaluru Blasters at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday. Nikin Jose's gritty 61 off 51 balls, featuring five fours and three sixes, wasn't enough to secure the win.

Chasing 145, Mangaluru's openers Noronha and Rohan Patil were swiftly dismissed by Santok Singh, leaving the Dragons stumbling at 34/2 in the powerplay. Despite partnerships with KV Siddharth and Shreyas Gopal, the Dragons found themselves lagging at 72/4 at the 12-over mark.

Lochan Gowda played a supportive 28 off 22 balls, pushing through a 50-run partnership with Jose. However, Kranthi Kumar's decisive bowling in the final over ensured the Dragons fell short. Earlier, Abhilash Shetty's spell of 4/9 had dismantled the Blasters' top order, but Kranthi Kumar's 39-run knock guided Bengaluru to 144/10, sealing their fourth win of the tournament.
