In a strategic move to reach its financial sales target, French Ligue 1 club Olympique Lyonnais has placed the majority of its squad on the transfer market, as reported by the French newspaper L'Equipe on Thursday.

Although specific players on the transfer list have not been disclosed, the club aims to raise 100 million euros ($111 million) before the transfer window closes. L'Equipe reported that the club still needs 75 million euros to meet their goal.

Lyon's significant spending in the last two months, totaling 134 million euros, includes a record 34 million euros to sign defender Moussa Niakhate from Nottingham Forest. The club is owned by Eagle Football Group, controlled by American businessman John Textor, who is also considering the acquisition of Everton.
