Germany is set to provide an additional 100 million euros ($111 million) in aid to Ukraine this winter, announced German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock during a visit to Moldova on Tuesday.

Speaking ahead of a ministerial conference in Chisinau, Baerbock highlighted Russia's plans for a 'winter war' aimed at making life unbearable for Ukrainians. Russia has continually targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, resulting in frequent power outages.

In June, Kyiv emphasized the need for more air defenses to repair infrastructure and meet the high winter power demand as temperatures plummet below zero. Currently, $1 equals 0.8986 euros.
