Chris Woakes has faced difficulties in replicating his home form during England's overseas tours. Nevertheless, the fast bowler is prepared to answer the call if selected for the upcoming tours to Pakistan and New Zealand later this year. With 127 wickets in 32 test matches on home soil but only 36 wickets in 20 matches abroad, Woakes acknowledges the challenge ahead.

Woakes' last overseas appearance was in the 2021-22 Ashes series, where England faced a heavy 4-0 defeat in Australia, and his performance drew criticism. This October, England will travel to Pakistan for a three-test series, followed by a three-match series in New Zealand in December.

Determined to contribute, Woakes stated, "I'll play for England where I'm picked to play for England. I certainly wouldn't rule myself out." He added that working on his batting—boasting an average of 27.76—could enhance his selection chances. At 35, Woakes is eager to seize opportunities and make a significant impact.
