Young Indian Women Wrestlers Shine at Under-17 World Championships

Young Indian women wrestlers Aditi Kumari, Neha, and Pulkit demonstrated stellar performances at the Under-17 World Championships. Aditi and Neha reached the finals of their weight categories, while Pulkit secured a place in the 65kg gold-medal bout. Ronak and Sainath Pardhi claimed bronze medals for India.

In a display of exceptional talent, young Indian women wrestlers Aditi Kumari, Neha, and Pulkit have advanced to title contention at the Under-17 World Championships held on Wednesday. Aditi Kumari's impressive victories over Ukraine's Karolina Shperyk and Marriem Mohamed Abdelaal have secured her a place in the 43kg semifinal against Aleksandra Berezovskaia.

Continuing her remarkable performance, Aditi triumphed 8-2 in the semifinals and is set to face Maria Louiza Gkika from Greece in the 43kg final. Neha also showcased her skills in the 57kg category, advancing to the finals without losing a point. She secured victories against Mairi Mani of Greece and Georgia's Miranda Kapanadze, followed by an 8-4 win over Kazakhstan's Anna Stratan. Neha will now face Japan's So Tsuitsui in the final.

In the 65kg category, Pulkit dominated her matches, securing a 'win by fall' against China's Ling Cai and a 9-0 victory over Juliana Catanzaro. She later defeated Egypt's Maram Ibrahim Aly 3-0 to advance to the gold-medal bout against Daria Frolova on Thursday.

Ronak, ranked second in the world, claimed India's first medal of the championship by defeating Turkey's Emrullah Capkan 6-1 for the GR bronze medal. Sainath Pardhi added another bronze to India's tally by overcoming Kazakhstan's Mussan Yerassyl in the 51kg bronze play-off after winning his repechage round.
