Australia's cricket team etched their name into the history books with a dominating 7-wicket victory over Scotland in the first T20I, setting a world record for the most runs scored in a powerplay. Skipper Mitchell Marsh praised his side's bowling and fielding efforts, highlighting the importance of starting the tour with a win.

Speaking after the match, Marsh said, "Always nice to start the tour with a win, you talk about winning the 1st game in a three-game series." He lauded the bowlers for their clarity and energy. "The Scottish people are extremely proud of their cricket, and the Australian cricket team are proud to be playing here," Marsh added.

Australia's explosive start saw them amass 113 runs in the powerplay, surpassing South Africa's previous record. Openers Travis Head and debutant Jake Fraser-McGurk displayed a destructive mindset, relentlessly hitting boundaries while chasing Scotland's modest total of 155. Josh Inglis concluded the game with a quickfire 27* off 13 balls. Scotland, invited to bat first, managed to put up a competitive score of 154/9.
