Acclaimed actor Akkineni Naga Chaitanya will heighten the excitement of the Indian Racing Festival (IRF) by leading Hyderabad Blackbirds in the upcoming season of the Indian Racing League (IRL) as the team owner.

An avid Formula 1 enthusiast and collector of supercars and motorcycles, Naga Chaitanya brings a unique mix of motorsport passion and star power. 'I have been a motorsports enthusiast from a very early age, with a deep love for everything from the high-speed drama of Formula 1 to the thrill of driving supercars and bikes,' he said in a press release by IRF. 'Leading the Hyderabad Blackbirds amid a stacked line-up this season is an experience I am looking forward to with much anticipation.'

Naga Chaitanya joins fellow actors Arjun Kapoor and John Abraham, and cricket legend Sourav Ganguly as a celebrity team owner in the IRL, promising to broaden its appeal. 'The addition of high-profile celebrities will not only strengthen our fanbase but also ensure a more vibrant and engaging experience for all,' said Akhilesh Reddy, Chairman and Managing Director of Racing Promotions Private Limited (RPPL). The 2024 season kicks off on August 24 at the Madras International Circuit, featuring a groundbreaking night race on the streets of Chennai.
