Brazilian footballer Willian announced his departure from Fulham after two years. The 36-year-old's contract has expired, and media reports suggest a potential move to Saudi Arabia. Willian expressed gratitude towards Fulham and its fans, having scored nine goals in 58 Premier League appearances.
Brazil's international footballer Willian, aged 36, has officially parted ways with Fulham after a two-year tenure at the Premier League club, as announced on Friday. The ex-Arsenal and Chelsea veteran had previously extended his stay at Fulham with a one-year contract, which has now come to an end.
Reports circulating in British media hint at a possible transfer to Saudi Arabia for the seasoned winger. Willian took to Instagram to express his gratitude, saying, 'I would like to thank Fulham for a wonderful two years. It was special to return to the Premier League and be part of this historic club and the amazing fans. I have had incredible moments and this club will always be in my heart.'
During his time at Fulham, the left winger and attacking midfielder made 58 Premier League appearances and netted nine goals. One of the standout moments included scoring in a 2-1 victory over his former club Chelsea in January 2023, marking Fulham's first league win against their West London rivals in 17 years. Fulham is set to start their Premier League season against Manchester United later today.
