Odisha, Roundglass, Namdhari XI Triumph in Thrilling Hockey Academy Championship

The 9th day of the Hockey India Junior Men and Women Academy Championship 2024 witnessed impressive wins, securing spots in the finals for Odisha Naval HPC and Roundglass Punjab in the Women’s category. In the Men's category, Odisha Naval HPC, Namdhari XI, and Bhai Behlo Academy clinched dominant victories.

The ninth day of the 2nd Hockey India Junior Men and Women Academy Championship 2024 Zone A & B witnessed Odisha Naval Hockey High-Performance Centre and Roundglass Punjab Hockey Club Academy advancing to the Final in the Women's category. In the Men's category, Odisha Naval Hockey High-Performance Centre, Ghumanhera Risers' Academy, Namdhari XI, and Bhai Behlo Hockey Academy Bhaygta registered significant victories on Sunday, according to a Hockey India release.

In the women's semi-final match, Odisha Naval Tata Hockey High-Performance Centre stormed past Salute Hockey Academy with a 7-0 victory to move into the Final. Surekha Bahala (3', 29'), Sheetal Yadav (7', 21', 45'), Prabhjot Kaur (20'), and Chetna Rani Das (46') scored for Odisha Naval Tata Hockey HPC. In the other semi-final, Roundglass Punjab Hockey Club Academy triumphed over Ghumanhera Risers' Academy with a dominant 10-1 scoreline. Key performances came from Ribka (12', 19', 27', 43'), Namneet Kaur (15'), Sharanjit Kaur (30', 34'), Harleen Kaur (36', 47'), and Rubby (52'). Priya (24') was the lone scorer for Ghumanhera Risers' Academy.

In the men's matches, Odisha Naval Tata Hockey HPC defeated Tamil Nadu Hockey Academy 12-0, with notable goal contributions from Ajay Xalxo (7'), Harish Singh Leitanthem (11'), Pritam Ekka (19', 20', 55'), Sanjit Tirkey (29', 41', 45'), Yojin Minz (47'), Irengbam Rohit Singh (49'), and Bilkan Oram (56', 59'). Ghumanhera Risers' Academy narrowly beat the Republican Sports Club 2-1, thanks to goals from Akshay Kumar (45') and Pryash (60'). Andron Christopher (54') scored for the Republican Sports Club.

Namdhari XI showcased their prowess by beating Thirumalvalavan Hockey Academy 11-0. Scorers included Navraj Singh (1', 6', 22', 27', 36'), Raman Sharma (4'), Ashwani (8', 9', 32'), Mandeep Singh (28'), and Gurdayal Singh (37'). In another dominant performance, Bhai Behlo Hockey Academy Bhagta outplayed Cheema Hockey Academy 12-1. Lovepreet Singh (6'), Gourav Bawa (15', 34', 42', 47', 60'), Lakhwinder Singh (17', 54'), Manpreet Singh (35', 59'), Satnam Singh (40'), and Satnam Singh (57') contributed to the scoreboard. Mahesh Bahadur (51') scored the sole goal for Cheema Hockey Academy.
